The Cowboys

I am just sick of how things are going with the Cowboys lately. I'm sick of Jerry Jones, Wade Phillips, Terrell Owens and Tony Romo. The Cowboys have one of the most talented teams in the NFL, but as of tonight might not make the playoffs. The reason, well, there are many. Jerry Jones is too involved in the day to day operations. He is the reason we have had to deal with the T.O. problems. I'm sorry but as good as T.O. is supposed to be, he is not that good. He has been on the top of the list of dropped balls the last few years and if you watch these games lately, he is just not getting open.
Now you have Wade Phillips, who is supposed to be a defensive guru, yet the Cowboys lost tonight because of two long runs for touchdowns. He didn't start calling defensive plays until more than halfway through the season. What kind of coach allows such talent to go unguided for so long? What kind of coach allows long runs for scores when he calls run blitzes. It's just ridiculous.
Finally we have Tony Romo. I have been on his side most of the way but I can't look past this performance against the Ravens. Two picks on passes that just should not have been thrown. He is not a rookie anymore. He just heaved those balls up in the air for anyone to catch. He has a documented record of turning the ball over. I know he can make some crazy plays sometimes but it doesn't make up for an average of at least one turnover per game.
Finally, I like the fact that there is an owner who likes to take chances on players but I can't defend an owner who chases the best coaches away. The Cowboys have had Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells leave because of this guys' ego. I don't want a coach who is hired just because he can be the owner's pet. The coach must run the team. If Jerry thinks he can do a better job than he needs to coach and put his own butt on the line. If he's not, then let the coach do his job.
There is a lot more I could say but the frustration is getting to me right now. I can only hope and pray that things will work themselves out. What good will having a billion dollar stadium for a team that can't make the playoffs? Especially a team with just as much talent as anyone else in the NFL.
